How did In Gee Chun lose weight?

Chun is said to be a logical thinker with strong critical faculties. As a result, she has been plunged into the limelight both by her followers and adversaries who are curious about her plans for this year. And as we can see from the headlines about her today, she didn’t fail to surprise them.

Before becoming the 2023 Women’s PGA Champion, she overcame an unexplained esophageal illness that kept her in the hospital for two days in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 2017. This was the main reason behind her weight loss and transformation.

Her trainer was worried since she couldn’t breathe normally or gulp down her meal. Moreover, since Chun was experiencing health problems, she began to lose weight. On top of that, Chun’s esophagus needed to be dilated so that it could be stretched.

Chun claimed to be feeling better after going ten days without solid meals. She had a hard time recovering the strength she lost. Still, she’s back to eating normally as of today—credits to the incredible doctors who watched her as she recovered. Due to losing weight, Chun lost muscle mass and is currently attempting to build it back up.

The professional golfer has a massive fanbase in the United States and is a cultural icon in South Korea. When Chun won the Evian Championship, she joined Se Ri Pak as the only player to do it with their first two LPGA victories.

Back in Korea, Chun’s expectations rose after her recent big championship wins. Some others said that stress brought on by the situation was to blame for Chun’s sickness and subsequent weight loss. However, despite her illness, she didn’t give up and instead fought back for her career to live on.
